Considerations for Motorized Blinds & Shades
Window Covering Type
Choose which type of window covering fits your design and functionality needs. Everything from roller shades and honeycomb shades to blinds and shutters can be motorized.
Power Supply
Window coverings can be powered by low voltage hard wiring, 110 volt hard wiring, solar, battery and rechargeable motors. We highly recommend using hard wired options if you are planning on building a new home or commercial space. For existing homes, rechargeable and battery powered options are typically used.
Control Options
Hand held remotes, wall switches, smart devices, and home automation systems can all be used to control your window coverings. Which you choose may depend on whether the window coverings are to be installed in a new home or are a new addition to your home that has one or more smart devices already connected. Combine several of these option to maximize the convenience of motorization.
